5 chinese guys with long knives opened the auto gate and entered a member’s house. They locked all female members in the a room, upstairs. Missing items were a laptop, few hand phones, some jewellery and cash. They sped off in a car. Police report was lodged.

KUALA LUMPUR: Residents who install boom gates to protect their neighbourhood must ensure that they are manned at all times, Housing and Local Government Minister Datuk Chor Chee Heung said.
The gated community and guarded neighbourhood guidelines, approved by the Cabinet last September, also state that the boom gates, or barriers, must not be locked at any time.

KUALA LUMPUR: The Housing and Local Government Ministry is taking a guarded stance on the ‘guarded community’ housing estate concept.
As guarded community housing estates have been mushrooming, of late, the ministry intends to come out with guidelines on the concept.

The guidelines for gated and guarded community in Selangor are based on conditions spelled out by the state Housing and Property Board. They are:
- Neighbourhood representatives must register their residents' associations with the Registrar of Societies.
- Eighty per cent of residents must consent to the setting up of a gated and guarded community.
- Boom gates are allowed to be closed only from midnight to 6am daily and security guards have no power to stop a vehicle from going into an area.
